CubaDupa is held in a completely pedestrianised Cuba Quarter, in Wellington, NZ. There are no festival gates – just head down to Cuba Street and you’ll find us!

If you’re a local just head on down to the Cuba Quarter in the centre of Te Aro. If you’re coming from further afield than Wellington, there are plenty of ways to get here as well as some hot transport tips.

Scan a scooter.
Embrace the E-Scooter. Riding an electric scooter to CubaDupa is pretty epic and convenient!

Bring your bike.
Pōneke is compact and easy to get around on a bike or if you’re feeling fancy, an e-bike. Use the wonderful new bike paths from most suburbs, and get a secure park at Bicycle Junction.

Fly in style.
There are daily flights into Wellington International Airport (one of our wonderful sponsors) from NZ domestic and regional airports. Wellington International Airport is a short drive, Uber or bus from the city centre.

You can drive.
For you northern folk, Wellington is right at the bottom of the North Island at the end of SH1 and SH2 – you literally can’t miss it. Keep going south on SH1 or SH2 until you can’t go any further! For you southern folk, same advice but backwards…and there’s a Ferry. Drive up on SH1 or SH6 until you hit Picton. Once there, you’ll want to jump on a Ferry over to Wellington and there you are. Make sure you book your Ferry in advance though! Check out Interislander and Bluebridge for times and prices. Once you get here, find a secure parking space at one of the many Wilsons Car Parks around the city (another of our wonderful sponsors!).

Take the bus.
Forget about your parking and traffic worries by taking the bus! You can even use this time to plan your schedule for the day. We encourage bussing to CubaDupa! Take the train.
The Greater Wellington Region and Wairarapa have the luxury of commuter trains that go right up to Kapiti and Masterton, which will give you a regular service to get to and from CubaDupa. Rideshare.
Pat on the back for you, if you come to CubaDupa with a full car. Save your petrol! Sharing rides has a major environmental benefit as well just having less cars on the roads and hopefully more parking spots in the city. Carpooling is cool! Once you get to the CBD, grab a secure parking space at one of the many Wilsons Car Parks around the city (another of our wonderful sponsors!). Note that parking in the city can be very hard to come by on the festival weekend, and we do recommend taking a bus, train, walking, or cycling in as easier options.
